Pordenone Silent Film Festival has been hosting for 39 years, and has established itself as the Mecca of silent films. This year it will be opened with William Beaudine’s Penrod and Sam (1923). Line-up for this year also includes Guo Feng (1935) directed by Luo Mingyou and Zhu Shilin, Georg Wilhelm Pabst’s The Devious Path (1928), The Brilliant Biograph from Eye Collections and the newly found The Apaches of Athens (1930).
While it is an online ‘limited edition’ (starts from Oct 3), we can still enjoy the live music accompaniment for most of the screenings.
